TREASURES OF DARKNESS - TRISH JENKINS

About the author:

Trish Jenkins is a dynamic, inspirational speaker and author. Audiences laugh, cry and learn when she speaks on overcoming adversity and fraud warnings.
Going to prison is especially embarrassing, when you are a Pastor's Kid! Truth really is stranger than fiction. Trish says, "If I couldn't prove it, no one would believe me!"

You can change the past and free your future - Trish did! She says, "I may not be able to change the facts, but I CAN change what I believe they mean for my life. That thing that could have destroyed me, now serves me as I share the Treasures I discovered in my Darkness, with YOU.

Her own adversity made her an authority on fraud warning signals and resulted in her first book "Dangerous Wealth: What Every Successful Woman Needs to Know to Avoid Being Ripped Off!"

Trish is Australian. She lives in Brisbane with her husband Justin and her 3 beautiful girls, Chelsea and identical twins Felicity and Olivia.

The Jenkins are active members of their church and business community.

A Prison Journey

Authored by Mrs Trish JenkinsPrison was not on the "Goal Chart" of entrepreneur Trish Jenkins.

A breach of the Corporations Act meant losing her multi-million dollar portfolio, including her family home.

It also meant Trish served 8 months in prison.
Isolated from her husband and 3 little girls, living among Queensland's most dangerous criminals, Trish could have succumbed to despair.

But treasure is found in dark places.

Refusing to be a victim, Trish answered a new calling to make a difference in the lives around her. In doing so she found a different kind of freedom and healing.

Few people learn what prison is really like. Those who have rarely speak of it.

This is a courageous journey. Better than a memoir, this is real and raw; made up of letters, private journal and hindsight.

You'll alternately laugh, cry and shake your head as you experience funny stories, tragic circumstances, discouragement, hope and ever present faith.

Journey with Trish as she discovers Treasures from Darkness.

BE WEALTHY

Would you agree that life is a choice? Every day, we have to make many decisions, one way or the other, knowingly or unknowingly, impliedly or expressly. No action is also a decision.

To live life to its fullest, we need to grow up and not only grow old. Grow in every aspect of life, be it physically, mentally and spiritually. Otherwise, sad to say that living is just occupying space without meaning. As such, lifelong learning is necessary for us to grow up as we are ageing. That is the beauty of ageing as well.

In short, we need not only look back and get experience from our pasts but look forward and see hope in our future of life. No one can live life without hope and faith. Meanwhile, stay vigilant and look around to find reality. Most importantly is to look within ourselves and find our self through listening to our inner voice.

By knowing our true selves and passions, we can then serve with utmost might and without much effort. This is because we will truly enjoy what we are doing. That is exactly what we want from life and we must be grateful with what life is giving us. Otherwise, we are just swimming against the current and feel unhappy all the while. Our Conscious Choice will determine what our choices will be and we will never regret what we have chosen. We will response to it without any resistance and objection. In fact, we shall live the best out of it, making us lack nothing. We will either chose to live Now or Never. Because there may not be a second Chance.

At times, it may involve simple choices and at times it may be a difficult one. You may look back and find a situation more complicated despite it being a simple one. From my experience, I do get caught in such a situation and due to my own perception that deceive me to think otherwise. Be Cautious with our thoughts.

At times, we do not want to make to a stand, but rather find an easy way to resolve it. It is worthy to note that it is easy to COMPROMISE, but it comes with a COST, at times it may be very COSTLY. Easy way is like a highway WHICH MAY NOT be the right path. Whereas the right path is usually the narrow way. But the truth is that the choice is very much dependent on the individual's past experience, background and other reasons best known to himself.

To make our discussion much clearer, below please find the two illustrations.

For instance, when it comes to matters of life and death, do you seek the best doctor or the cheapest doctor? Guess any normal and rational person will firstly opt for the BEST because they are wanting the specialised knowledge and precision. This is because you can't afford to compromise after all, there may not be a second Chance, so to speak.

Another good example are planes. Do the engineers or technicians do a thorough and precision check before certifying the plane fit to fly? Absolutely yes. This is because we cannot afford to let the plane drop from the sky. Here, is another clear example of no compromise case!

So what about our life which involved our loved ones? Do we compromise on that or insist on the best? There is always a "Cost" hidden, implied or express for every choice we made. We either pay it now or later....latter is always being the higher and longer.

What would you do for those matters that affect you most? Compromise or do your best? What cost might be reasonable for your loved ones?

At MONEY TELLS STORIES, we believe you and your loved ones deserve the BEST, and not to compromise knowingly as it may be very costly. That's why we always insist on our utmost when serving you, our true treasures.

Review

This Is A Self Help Book

I think that what I enjoyed most about this book is its orderly, logical and systematic steps of the action plans to get rid of the debt issue. By ascertaining where the money is coming in and where it is going is the fundamental means of solving it. This is not any elegant story about some huge or mega-projects.  It involves steps of setting a goal, followed by action plans, means to cut down expenses appropriately and get to the goal. Logical and easily to follow.  That's what makes this book worth reading.

As you go through the steps and action plans, you'll see the familiar themes of staying positive, patient, persistent, determined, and consistent.  The book isn't meant to persuade or dissuade you - it's meant to inform and educate you so that you can achieve true financial freedom.  ~Oh James- Financial Expert & Founder & Chief Executive Officer of Lift You Up

DR HO KAI CHEONG AND HIS LEGACY

Dear Readers,

Recently, while I was doing some research for my article in my tea art blog and bumped to this man, who was not other than Dr Ho Kai Cheong, the founder of Ho Yan Hor Herbal tea. He is the man who truly turn his passion into an enterprise that lasts for more than half a century, which still striving into the year 2013.

The story of his legacy begun like this.

The streets were no longer deserted when evenings came. People no longer had to be terrified of men in army suits. World War II had come to an end.

In the midst of the unsettled post-war period, while people were busy restoring buildings and businesses, houses and homes, this man in his 30`s, preferred to enjoy the tranquility which was taken away from his homeland when he came back to Malaya in 1941.
Having graduated from China`s Canton Wah Lam National Physicians School in 1941, he was then one of the very few young chaps who received tertiary education. Still young and not having the faintest idea about his next step in life after the war, he obliged to the request of a friend to bring into creation a blend of herbal tea for folks in town who were deprived of the wonders of Western medicines as a remedy for common ailments.
With his passion for herbs and the knowledge acquired, he embarked on a journey of discovery leading to a concoction of 24 kinds of herbs. Till today, Ho Yan Hor Herbal Tea has remained a masterpiece of extraction. The meticulous extraction process of the 24 selected kinds of herbs bares every leaf of its nutritional and therapeutic assets! A class of its own, this novel process is repeated several times to ensure thorough extraction. The extract is then absorbed onto tea leaves, dried and packed into sachet tea bags for consumers` convenience. When taken, this all-natural extract enables immediate absorption of its goodness into the body. Today, the 60-year-old Ho Yan Hor Herbal Tea remains a favourite among many and it is much sought after to relieve body heatiness, nausea, indigestion, and waning appetite.
Over a lapse of more than half a century, Dr. Ho Kai-Cheong`s humble herbal tea stall has grown to a modern manufacturing plant with WHO GMP status. Modernization has not deterred the house of Ho Yan Hor from bringing its ancient goodness to consumers of the 21st century. From formulation to processing, these have been carefully preserved over the decades. The modern manufacturing plant has not short-changed consumers of its invaluable goodness, but only adding to it hygiene and health.
More than a health heritage, Ho Yan Hor Herbal Tea is truly an illustration of `when east meets west`. This aged-old concoction has managed to strike equilibrium between alternative medicines and mainstream medical approaches. With every cup of tea, come not only nutritional and therapeutic values, but heritage and history!
By now, we hope you are able to see how this young man adds value to his community by offering his solution to the pressing issue faced by his community at that time.
Thank you and hope that you find it useful and helpful.

MY COLOURFUL LIFE JOURNEY

How many of you LOVE the colourful life, like taking the ride on a Roller Coaster? If you do, then we do have a lot in common!

My late father had travelled across an ocean from China to marry my mother in Malaysia. She is a local lady. As such, I am a product of a migrant from Main Land China and a local lady. Both are illiterate. Luckily, 5 out of my 7 siblings are university graduates, that made both our parents very proud.

I was born at only 2 kgs. But my nickname is Tua Tow in Hokkein, meaning BIG HEAD because my head was relatively bigger than my body size Tua Tow Tua Tow, sounds cute right?  But you can even call me Tua Tow Kay (big boss).

I began to work at 12 and discovered that Education is the only viable way for me to break off from poverty chain. Since then I strived to follow the foot steps of those successful people and noticed that some of their backgrounds are even worse than mine. If they can achieve success, why can't I?

began by choosing to play the winning game like chess. I was the Captain who led my primary school in participating at the Penang State Chess Competitions under 12 Category in 1973.

However, due to some unfortunate, unpleasant and unforeseen events, I perform far below my trainer's expectation. I did not even enter the Quarter Final of the Individual event despite my perfect score in the team event. Since then I seldom play the game and pursue my other dreams.

I also needed to help my mum to sells lottery tickets to supplement our house's income . After my mother’s serious accident, I took over and maintained the business till a few months before my Malaysian Certificate of Examination, which is Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia now.

then painfully discontinued this small business to focus on my study, which she disagreed with in view of our tight financial situation, which I could understand. Luckily, many years later, she understood that I made the right decision.

Another blessing came when I obtained a Grade One in my Malaysian Certificate of Examination. But my joy was short lived because I could not obtain placing in Form 6 at government (public) school, despite many rounds of appeals. I even went to see our Penang Chief Minister, late Tun Lim Chong Eu, but he did not have time for me.

But I didn't despair nor give upThrough my good grades, I got a job as Laboratory Assistant assigned to World Health Organisation and Sumitomo projects. The late Professor from the Biology School, Universiti Sains Malaysia encouraged me immensely which sparked my desire to pursue my dream further.

At that time, I took London Chamber of Commerce Industry intermediate book-keeping classes. Again, due to dire financial constraints, I opted to do self study and not attending night classes, which the teacher assured me that I would FAIL . But I passed the examination with my hard work and  fortitude . I began to aspire to become an Accountant.

Anyone here love tiger prawns? Interestingly, prior to my London Chamber of Commerce Intermediate Examination, I also have another project of rearing tiger prawns with a friend. “So who says man cant multitask ?”

From the professor's encouragement, I then persevered  to pursue my Form 6 in Private School with my earnings from my part time job.

But another battle began because all subjects were in Bahasa Malaysia and my year was the last batch for MCE where Science and Mathematics were in English . Determination and Staying focus helped me to overcome this challenges apart from having to give tuition to 4 school students 2-3 hours Everyday except Sunday. The fees I earned just barely covered all my school expenses and my monthly bike instalment.

Without any income for about 3 months prior to my examination as I stopped giving tuition,  my only option was attending classes without paying school fees and being prepared to face whatsoever consequence.

Fortunately, my S.T.P.M. (GCE A level) result got me into a local university that we could only afford. I was so exultant because I made it at last after all the hassles and obstacles.

These good habits and attitudes enable me to obtain several academic qualifications  prior to the completion of my first Bachelor of Accounting degree such as Malaysian Chamber of Commerce Higher Accounting and English 1119.

By applying my knowledge, skill and strategies I managed to grow a newly set up private company to a publicly listed company and promoted as Financial Controller of the company.

I must admit that Practice does not make Perfect but Practice makes Permanent Progress.

In year 2000, after my team and I managed to turnaround the company with Knowing-doing Gap strategies and I had fulfilled all of my dreams at that time. I then lost sense of purpose in my life coupled with my helplessness to defend the loss of my still born child. That's subsequently led me to lose my passion in my profession.

Would you agree that your beliefs determine your actions?

Knowing that I was dying inside and my spirit was literally drying up. So, I embarked to pursue my second Law degree and soul searching journey.

I vowed if I ever got out of this mess, I will help others learn lessons that might improve their lives.

During this time, I have unlearned what I had learned and relearned what is unlimited belief.

In 2008, I simply quit my overseas job shortly after I obtained my Permanent Resident. What at the time appeared as a bold and irresponsible decision, would soon open doors that would enable me to discover the "Missing Link" in my own life.

That freed me to enter into one of the most creative and bold periods of my life. Guess what? I WAS venturing into wealth coaching PROGRAM and social media at my late 40 before I completed my Certified Professional Trainee Program. Many were surprised, even amongst my friends.

With this turn again, I then realised my larger purpose of helping people to live life in more fulfilling roles. I do so by repaying back those kind souls and people who have touched my life.

From  my turbulent life history, I learnt that we dictate the path, nothing can stop us so long we don't give in and give up.We just need to be accountable, decisive, committed, audacious and stay focus as we stride along our life journey.

NOW, I like to wish your life journey with the following:-

CREATE BUSINESS THROUGH PROBLEM SOLVING

CREATE BUSINESS THROUGH ADDING VALUE TO THE SOCIETY

How many of you know why most people don't start a business because they can't find the right idea to pursue? They think about it regularly and frequently, but no spark of inspiration comes, or because no one motivates them strong enough for them to work on it. I must admit that I was one of them in the past.

One of the main causes of this pattern is that people tend to associate businesses with money. They start thinking about how they can make money whenever they think about starting a business. This is very natural to do so. When it comes to business, the money aspect is always considered as an important element. However, focusing on it right away might not be the best strategy. You may ask why? Because no business exists solely to make money rather than exist to solve problems.

In other words, if you are looking for that next idea to pursue you should think about what problem you want to solve. Then only you can figure out what and how you can actually make money while solving that particular problem you have in mind.

The question then arises as whose problems should you solve? To begin with, it is perhaps more appropriate as to how about starting to solve your own problem? Simple as it sounds, yet this strategy created some of the largest fortunes on earth.

Here are some of illustrations :  Back in 1924, a well respected missionary gentleman called Dr Ralph C. Smedley who intended to help people become more competent and comfortable in front of an audience. Click the link below for more details.

Another one: In the early 1941s, Dr Ho Kai Cheong who obliged to bring into creation of a blend of herbal tea for folks in town who were deprived of the wonders of Western medicines as a remedy for common ailments. For details, please click the link below:-

We are sure of many other examples of this nature. Kindly quote those you know in the comment column provided below. Thank you in advance for doing so.

Please share with us some problems you are currently facing so that we come up with that next idea:

Now go solve that problem to create your next fortune!

UNCONDITIONAL LOVE

UNCONDITIONAL LOVE

On October 2 1869, a remarkable, reputable and respectable man was born in India who had a dream to change humanity for the better. He led India to independence and inspired movements for initiating non-violence, civil rights and freedom across the world – right up until his assassination in 1948. This man was of course the great Mahatma Gandhi. He is my childhood’s hero till to-date and I must admit that he had impacted and transformed my life significantly. Though he had gone, his spirit is still strong in his absence.
To KICK START WITH THE NEW GREAT YEAR 2013, we at this blog wanted to share some of his most inspirational quotes AND TEACHINGS that still have as much significance and relevance in today’s rapid changing world as they did back when they were first spoken.
“The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong.” – Mahatma Gandhi
“Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.” – Mahatma Gandhi
“The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.” – Mahatma Gandhi
“An eye for eye only ends up making the whole world blind.” – Mahatma Gandhi
“You may never know what results come of your action, but if you do nothing there will be no result.” – Mahatma Gandhi
“You must not lose faith in humanity. Humanity is an ocean; if a few drops of the ocean are dirty, the ocean does not become dirty.” – Mahatma Gandhi
“Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony.” – Mahatma Gandhi
“Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.” – Mahatma Gandhi
“Men often become what they believe themselves to be. If I believe I cannot do something, it makes me incapable of doing it. But when I believe I can, then I acquire the ability to do it even if I didn’t have it in the beginning.” – Mahatma Gandhi
“When I despair, I remember that all through history the way of truth and love has always won. There have been tyrants and murderers and for a time they seem invincible but in the end, they always fall – think of it, ALWAYS.” – Mahatma Gandhi
Out of THE ABOVE teachings and words of wisdom, which resonate with you the best AND WHY ?
So, let us stand united and embraced unconditional Love to be the guidance of our lives, if we want to have a secured and better future.
